A historical society is an organization dedicated to preserving, collecting, researching, and interpreting historical information, artifacts, photographs - etc. Typically, these types of societies are created as a conduit through which understanding of one's heritage is passed to future generations. Historical societies vary in specialization, with focuses ranging from the geographical & aeronautical to countries or towns, universities, air stations, railways, ethnic and religious groups, to genealogy, pioneer history, and the preservation of buildings and other structures from antiquity. Often, historical societies ensure historic digital architectures are preserved/restored and a site is maintained for the leisure of the increasingly digital general public. We think you will enjoy your visit.
Over the coming weeks and months, The Arkansas Aviation Historical Society will be filling in the blanks, as it were. The archives of our membership officially begin in 1980. However, the lives and traditions of those who have joined our ranks are vast and run deeply through communities and organizations spanning the globe. And so, with pride, we request that you submit any information, photograph, or other digital artifact for review. If you would like to join the conversation, use the form below to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.
